I can’t speak highly enough about the personnel we worked with in country. Everyone loved them, and they went above and beyond to ensure we were happy with the way things were going. Both were incredibly attentive to the travelers concerns, and we couldn’t have asked for a better team. We all left loving Nicaragua, in no small part because of Jorge and Ramon.

We just returned from a trip to Nicaragua with EcoQuest Travel. For much of the trip we were driven in a small bus by Juan Ramon. I would like to say he was a pleasure to travel with. He was attentive, agreeable and hard-working. He took an interest in our birding and several times helped us locate birds or found new ones for us. He was also a very careful driver!

Thank you so much for contacting me. I was going to do the same but haven't gotten around to it yet! Both excursions worked out so perfectly.
Everything went so smoothly! David, our tour guide for Cerro Negro was an amazing guide and we couldn't have had anyone better! The crew for the sailing tour was just was amazing and my group enjoyed each and every one of them. It all couldn't have worked out any better and I thank you once again for setting it all up for me and my friends! The excursions made the trip the most memorable for everyone! I would recommend your company and the tours I went on to anyone. There wasn't a single snag in any of it! I have attached some pictures for you to see from the excursions! Thanks again!

I have just finished my explore tour of Nicaragua and want to let you know what a great and interesting time I had. The tour was great from start to finish and Julio was great at answering my many questions about your country.
I gained a lot of knowledge of Nicaragua, of its people, history and the future of the country. I also had the pleasure of meeting Carla whom I think is just a great person. As this was my first tour ever it gave me a lot of insight to the job of tour operator, and it is certainly not a easy one with managing eighteen personalities. Julio did a great job!
Thank you to all of you for making my trip so enjoyable, and I will
certainly will be coming back.

My wife and I recently had a holiday in Nicaragua with Kuoni/Travel Collection. Our guide throughout our short stay was Julio Flores.
Without question Julio was the best guide we have ever had in all our many years of travel. His knowledge, English speaking ability and company was impeccable and he certainly made an excellent ambassador not only for your company but Nicaragua as well.
Without question we will visit your country again.
Please convey our thanks to Julio and also the driver has he was equally of top class calibre.

We would like to say a big “thank you” to ORO Travel for making our time in Nicaragua such a memorable experience. We enjoyed every minute of our time in your wonderful country.
Everything you did was of the very best. Our room at The Alhambra overlooking the main square in Granada was perfect. The tours were even better than we had thought, with all aspects of local life and culture included. A life’s ambition to have a close encounter with a live volcano was more than achieved, standing on the rim at Masaya.
What made it all so special was Rodolfo, our guide, and Juan Ramon, our driver. What a really great team, they were the very best, we could not have wished for better. Jamel was good too, I’m not sure we would have wanted to cope with the border crossing without his expert help!
The venues you chose for our lunches were just perfect and the food extremely good too. The quality and services you provided were superb and we cannot praise you enough. It has whetted our appetite - we want more time in Nicaragua - definitely with ORO Travel. We shall have to save up, but I’m sure we will be in touch, hopefully before too long.
Please convey our best wishes and thanks to Rodolfo and Juan Ramon.

Just back from 4 nights in Granada. Travelled independently but arranged everything through Oro Travel, with Steen being my connection.
Simply perfect and 100% proffessional. I recommend this agency very much ! He arrnaged for us house rental, car rental and transfers from the Managua airport on the night of arrival and then to Costa Rica on our last day were perfect and on time.
In Granada we stayed in a rental house called Casa Gallo - beautiful house with 3 bedrooms built around an elegant and large yard. Rooms have A/C which is vital in the heat and the house has all amenities, including a nice pool. Felt free and safe to drive around and to walk around at night. Rented a car fron Budget (15 minutes walking from the house) and the supermarket is also 10 minutes walk. Great restaurants for both breakfast and dinner. Drove to Masaya crater and Mombacho, which were both fun, unique and interesting.
Had no toubles with police... The town of Granada itself has a lot of charm. Very Recommended for people seeking unusual destinations.

Another great trip. Yamal was outstanding. The border was a mess with no one working on getting the passports stamped to leave Nicaragua.
Yamal was able to get us to the head of the line so when they did find one person to stamp passports we were first in line. Without his help we would still be waiting I think. You and your drivers made the transportation portion of our trip relaxing and so professional. We plan to return to Nicaragua next year and if we do you will be our choice for transportation. Warmest Regards to all our drivers.

“We were lucky enough to have your English speaking guide, Rodolfo Ortega and driver, Juan Ramon, to show us your wonderful country last week.
We do extensive traveling and have to commend your company on these two men. Our trip was much more enjoyable because of both of them. Each day when they arrived at our hotel, the car had been cleaned and they were very thoughtful in all our needs. We were in the car with them for many hours and Rudy never stopped explaining everything we saw and answered all our questions. We found the city of Granada beautiful. We were tired from our flight, and yet each part of the day was truly enjoyable. The horse ride to the boat was wonderful. And the boat ride with the monkeys was a special treat.”

Julio and my driver Yamal were Super Terrific!!!!! I met their wives one night and we went out for dinner. Then, we went out dancing. They kept me entertained and laughing.
The best way to experience the Nicaraguan culture. One of the wives gave me embroidery napkins and a CD of a singer named Paquita La del Barrio. Funny, very funny. Every time I play the CD, it gives me back memories of my Nicaraguan trip.
Once more I had a FANTASTIC time.

Dear Oro Travel. My friend Lauren and I wanted to write you and thank you for two for a wonderful travelling experience during our stay in Nicaragua.
While in Granada, Lauren and I enjoyed both a morning kayak through Las Isletas and a day long tour of Chocoyero and Los Pueblos de Meseta. Both were fantastic.
In particular, however, we wanted to let you how much we appreciated your staff. Our driver for both tours was Wilfredo – he was friendly, patient, and extremely accommodating. Our guide for the day in Chocoyero was Byron – we were beyond impressed with his knowledge of the culture and history of Nicaragua and good humor. He made us feel very comfortable and relaxed.
We will be certain to recommend Oro Travel to our friends, especially any tour with Wilfredo and Byron!

I loved our trip! Julio and Giovanni were both great, and my only complaint was that the trip was not longer. Oh, and it would be nice if your clients knew in advance how much to tip people such as bellboys, drivers, restaurant people, guides, etc. Even just a range would be good! Julio was nice enough to help us with most everyone except for himself :-)
Also, I think I might have restructured it a little bit too, i.e. seen some of the managua stuff the day we arrived, since we arrived fairly early in the afternoon, and there wasn't that much to do in or around our hotel. And I think I would have skipped spending the night in Leon, because the La Perla, while it looked nice, was where we had the most problems. Our door lock wouldn't work properly, our window wouldn't lock, and no one there spoke that much English. And it's just not as nice of a city as Granada is!
I liked La Omaja on Ometepe, although I was a little worried about it after talking to you. I didn't see the inside of Villa Paraiso, so I have nothing to compare it to, but the food was great (best breakfast of the trip!), and it was nice and quiet, and not full of people like Villa Paraiso.
Julio took great care of us, which is important to me, because while I can tough it out a bit, my wife needs more care, so he was very good for us. He always made sure we were okay, helped us to order at restaurants, was excellent at spotting wildlife, and was just generally fun to be with.
I liked Morgan's Rock and was glad that we ended the trip there. We had a lot of fun there, and it was nice to just relax, and I'm so grateful to you for getting us the second night on such short notice! The one little adventure we had was this: We arrived at the hotel, opened our suitcases up, and then went to dinner. While at dinner I thought that we should keep our suitcases closed, just in case any bugs crawled in, so when we got back to the room, we shut our suitcases, and zipped them up. In the morning, I went to get my clothes out of the suitcase, so I opened it up, and there was a big scorpion sitting in my suitcase! I was able to get it out with chopsticks that I always carry, and then killed it with my shoe. Thankfully we discovered him there and not when we arrived home! The only other thing I would say about Morgan's Rock is that service is slow, and things move at a different pace, so people should just relax and take things as they come.
Anyway, thank you so much for all of the hardwork that you put into our trip, all the planning, answering all of the questions, etc. I really appreciated it, and my wife, who is more the sit on a beach at a nice resort kind of person, loved the trip, which says a lot! I have already recommended your company to friends, so if you ever need a recommendation or anything, feel free to use my name!
Gracias!
Scott.

Travel to Granada along Lake Nicaragua...:
Mrs. & Mr. Millington •
Destination: Granada •

It was late afternoon and there must have been a thousand Lorries lined up on the PanAmerican Highway waiting to cross the border. What next we wondered?. At this point at night in shining armour arrived in the shape of Mr. Julio Flores from ORO.
He had been worried sick about us, did not know what had happened but just waited hoping we would come. On seeing two disheveled, worried-looking Europeans getting out of a taxi on the Costa Rica side of the border, he just marched across to us and whisked us through immigration and customs in no time at all filling in forms himself on our behalf, carrying our luggage with the help of his driver and even having a row with somebody and paying the necessary to open the toilet for us.
Eventually we were comfortable sat in his tour car and we finally did travel to Granada along Lake Nicaragua and it was wonderful.
The Nicaragua section then turned out is the best four days of the entire trip and this man Julio Flores is the best guide we have ever had in twenty years of long hand narrative in a conclusion. We have delayed about a month in writing, so that the account could be more thoughtful and less emotional in tone.
Your response is awaited with interest.
Your sincerely

You read my mind! I was going to e-mail you also. Everything went wonderfully in Nicaragua! Oro Travel is highly recommended by me; they were on time (early a couple of times) and didn't hesitate to make stops along the way we requested (ie: Pali grocery store and photo ops). I knew the properties I chose were going to be good but once we got to them, they were more than a website or brochure can prepare a person for. Excellent service had by all.
Our guide Julio Flores with Oro was the best! Very knowledgable and the clients traveling with me commented on his English. Very good! The city guide at the Masaya market behaved more like a vendor and irritated me with his aggresiveness for us to make purchases. Not good.
Overall, my experience was wonderful and I will do business with you again. What does your office in Ft. Lauderdale do? I should make a visit there since I live 30 minutes away.

Please thank both Julio and Enrique for giving us such a wonderful trip. Also please thank the driver who took us to San Jorge..
Wonderful time we had in Nicaragua...:

I'm writing to let you know what a wonderful time we had in Nicaragua, thanks to you and your excellent guide, Francisco ("Chico") March.
We enjoyed everything we did and loved every place we stayed (Morgan's Rock, Casona de los Estrada, and especially the wonderful Albergue Celentiname -- our favorite place on the trip -- and Dona Maria's cooking!).
We only wish we could have stayed in Nicaragua longer. We're already trying to plan another trip there, and the next time we travel with you, we'll certainly ask for Francisco to be our guide again. He did an excellent job. He was clearly very well informed about his country and was able to communicate lots of information in a clear and interesting way, he was always on time and very well organized, he immediately made us feel comfortable, and he made everything easy, including getting through the border crossing at San Carlos, which I'm sure we could never have managed without him.
Along with all this, he offered something really special: he has such a warm and friendly personality that we felt we were traveling with a Nicaraguan friend, and everywhere we went he managed to create this warm and friendly atmosphere for us with everyone we met. He was also willing to adapt to our needs, taking us on a great tour of Duilio Jimenez's pottery workshop, helping us negotiate for paintings in Solintename, etc., and he also did lots of special things that made our trip really memorable. For example, at the Albergue Celentiname, my daughter (age 14) and Dona Maria's granddaughter, age 13, were very shy with each other until Chico played a noisy, fun card game with them that got them laughing and talking in English and Spanish, and now my daughter feels she has a Nicaraguan friend her age.
These are the kinds of priceless experiences that we'll remember all our lives, and this happened because of Chico. I'll recommend your company and Chico to anyone traveling to Nicaragua.
Making our trip a very memorable time...:

We were on vacation in Nicaragua from January 27 until February 3.
We had Francisco March ("Chico") as our guide.
I want to take the time to write and tell you what a fantastic job he did for us.
Chico knows a lot about his country, and enjoys showing it to others. He is very friendly and is great to be with.
We saw places, and got into places, that one would never get into on their own.
He goes above and beyond. He made restaurant recommendations that were always excellent, and on one occasion he even made dinner reservations for us.
He was always on time and even early, something that is important to Americans.
In all, he contributed a lot to making our trip a very memorable time.
Granada is the perfect place...:

I wanted to send you a quick note of thanks for all the assistance you gave me while planning my family's trip to Nicaragua - and for your continuing help once we arrived. I will be certain to mention your company to fellow travelers.
We enjoyed our day trips tremendously and thought Walter Murillo was an excellent guide. He was very informative and had a great sense of humor. I understand that most guides work on a freelance basis so I am recommending that Oro hire Walter as often as possible.
My family enjoyed Morgan's Rock very much as well and it was a nice restful few days before we went home. However, Granada is the perfect place from which to see so much of Nicaragua and we were grateful to get such good information and suggestions from your office. Additionally, I always appreciated the immediacy of your answers to all of my questions. Thanks for taking the extra time.

we traveled in Nicaragua July 16 - July 23; all of our transportation and the second half of our trip on Ometepe Island was arranged by you.
I must tell you that your services were outstanding. We always felt the invisible hand of Oro ensuring our safe and expedient travel & the best possible services.
Ometepe is the farthest from the U.S.A. we've ever been in terms of rustic off-the-map travel, and I would recommend your services to anyone.

I don't remember the names of our guide and driver, but I would like to
complement and thank them both for an excellent job. Both were friendly and
competent, but in addition, our tour guide was passionate and extremely
knowledgeable about Nicaragua. He made a wonderful impression on all of us and got away
before we could reward him for our appreciation. I hope this note helps a
little.
Thanks so much for setting up our trip...:

Thanks so much for setting up our trip to la Compleda. Your description was, "It is nicer than you would think." Well, it certainly was. We were treated royally. Our hostesses were charming, not to mention wonderful cooks. Our tour guide, Oscar, gave 101%! He generously provided information and shared his life with us, including friends.
We couldn't have had a more enjoyable time while learning all about your country. Also, commendations to Yamal, our driver. We were thrilled to see him return to pick us up for our ride to Leon.

On behalf of my entire family I would like to extend our sincere appreciation for the wonderful job ORO Travel and your employee David did to make our trip to Nicaragua over the Christmas holidays so memorable. David was charming, smart, and always professional. He did an outstanding job ensuring that the seven of us were safe, treated respectfully and well informed of the culture and history of Nicaragua and Central America. His service was a highlight to a wonderful trip to Nicaragua and Costa Rica.
Both ORO Travel and David can be proud of the humor, warmth and professionalism provided to us during our adventure. We will definitely be back (you're right - Masaya and Catarina are a shoppers paradise) and will certainly use ORO Travel as our window to Central America.
