Granada, Nicaragua is the “Paris of Central America” says US newspaper
September 01 2015

Yet again a US newspaper highlights tourism in Nicaragua and positions it as a new destination in Central America.

First there was an article in The Boston Globe published last December, which said "Forget Costa Rica — old news. Industry experts are calling Nicaragua the hottest destination in Central America, and one of its best bargain."
Then in February of this year the online journal The Huffington Post referred to the city of Granada as the "Paris of Central America."
"Nicaragua is a country of lakes, volcanos, crashing Pacific surf, and historic colonial cities that begs you to stick around a while to discover it,” said the article, which highlights Nicaragua's crown jewel, the colonial city of Granada.
For the president of the National Chamber of Tourism (Canatur), Pablo Abarca, the publications are welcoming but he cautions that they generate the need for a new tourism law with new incentives for tourism businesses. The new laws are expected to be finalized with the government in the coming months.
