Sabalos Lodge





Sabalos Lodge opened in 2002 with the purpose of promoting environmentally friendly nature tours in the region of San Juan River. It is strategically located along this impressive water way close to San Carlos and the Indio Maiz Biosphere Reserve, as well as a few minutes from main the town “Sabalos”.

Nowadays it is not only strongly promoting and developing tourism but also improving and having an impact on surrounding communities by creating employment. Sabalos Lodge is part of the Central American Green Initiative of the Mesoamerican Biological Corridor and the Private Nature Reserve Network of Nicaragua.

The cabins have private baths and porches facing the river. Some of the main activities you can pursue are tours in kayak or canoe, bicycling, horseback riding, hikes on the trails of their private wild reserve, fishing along the river bank, watching caimans at night, bird-watching and swimming from an island in front of the hotel.
