------

It is situated in the southern slope of the extinct cloud forest Maderas volcano in Ometepe Island by the community of San Ramon.

The two hours hike to get to this beautiful waterfall is fascinating and the nature lovers will have the experience to admire the well preserved flora and fauna. As you hike towards the waterfall you have the chance to pass by farms where there are orange and avocado plantations. The hike is worth in the end because you will be able to enjoy the beautiful view of Lake Nicaragua.

The waterfall is formed by rainwater accumulated by the top of the volcano and falls all year round.
About 50 meters down a nice little pond has formed. The water temperature is very refreshing for those who would like to have a swim in this natural pool.

Near San Ramon Waterfall there are small restaurants and bar facilities to either have a beer or enjoy some local fish from the island. Kayak, horseback riding, nature walks, biking and bird watching are also part of the experience in this part of the island.
