In the morning we will depart and begin this fascinating adventure. Located only 12 kilometers south from the colonial city of Granada Nicaragua, we will reach the base of the impressive Mombacho volcano, a cloud forest natural reserve with luxuriant vegetation and wonderful wild life. While heading up the summit of “Mombacho” you will be able to observe several coffee plantation fields mixed among the forest, up to an altitude of 850 meters above sea level. From this point the journey begins within the limits of the natural reserve, vegetation becomes more verdant and temperature more pleasant. Once we reach the top (approximately 1250 meters above sea level) we initiate the one and a half hour trek from the biological research center through the captivating cloud forest. Several species of bromeliads, colorful orchids, interesting flowers, unusual trees, bamboo-like palms trees, tree ferns, sleeping plants, unique dwarf forests, fumaroles, monkeys, birds, and if weather permits, fantastic views over Lake Nicaragua, Granada, Apoyo crater lake, the steaming Masaya volcano and even lake Managua can be enjoyed.
After this memorable natural experience, we drive down to the base of Mombacho volcano, where we endeavor into zip lining. Here we will have the chance to enjoy the “Canopy Tour”. Strong platforms installed on trees’ canopies will be the launching stage to literally fly over smaller trees and coffee fields. Professional trained tour guides will kindly teach and encourage you to perform some special tricks while zip lining, thus enhancing your adventure activity. Landscape views, flora contemplation, exciting experience, walking on hanging bridges, bouncing cables and more are some of the funny and enriching natural activities for you to enjoy on this fantastic trip.

Hello! Our trip was excellent and that is due in part to our new Nicaraguan friends, Julio and Julio at Oro Travel! We had a terrific time on our excursions in large part to those two guys—they were excellent tour guides/drivers and really helped us learn a lot of Nicaragua (and how to speak Spanish!!).
