One of the main cities in the north region of Nicaragua, Jinotega is known to have a pleasant climate all year round.

The Cathedral, first construction 1805, is named after San Juan and is located across from the Plaza Central where many locals meet at the end of the day.

Jaguar (El) Lodge

In 2006 The Jaguar Private Preserve was selected IBA (Important Bird Area) by the Birdlife International www.birdlife.org. Nature and hiking trails have been designed to monitor resident and migratory birds, coffee tours in the property, homemade food, a small informative research center, school visits, and community projects.
