Walking or hiking are not the only way of exploring Nicaragua’s natural wonders or breathtaking landscapes. Several sites provide interesting horseback riding experiences which allow you to see beautiful vegetation, active rural communities, encounters with local inhabitants and their deep rooted customs and traditions.
Other horseback riding sites will take you along natural protected areas, reforestation zones and lookouts to the never-ending Pacific Ocean. Horseback riding tours have been also designed to explore some of archeological sites, El Porvenir in Ometepe, where old volcanic rocks were carved skillfully hundreds of years ago by the first people.
“Ojo de Agua” an interesting complex water spring which forms a 4 kilometer river flowing in Lake Nicaragua, can be a pleasant swimming reward after a long horseback ride.
