It is a group of 18 untouched tropical islands located 35 kilometers offshore Pearl Lagoon in the South Autonomous Region of Nicaragua, neighboring with Corn Islands. Reachable by private boat “Cayos Perlas” provides certainly one of the best natural settings of the Caribbeans; its white sandy beaches, blue turquoise waters and green vegetation blend perfectly well to create a wonderful breathtaking landscape. A forty five minutes ride is enough to get to this hidden paradise from Pearl Lagoon or from Corn Islands, either big or little; some of the islands can be visited where travelers can enjoy either swimming, taking sunbathe, reading a book, snorkel or just let time goes by while the soft breeze of the sea caress you.
The Pearl’s Cays as well as Corn Islands provide the fantastic opportunity for fine fishing counting snappers, grunts, nose-fish, barracudas, tunas, sail fish and other large games. These incredible cays are also nesting sites for the turtles, including the hawksbill turtle an endangered species. Some names of the islands are Water, Grape, Wild Cane, Lime, Babumki, Coco, Cohiba and others. Most of the islands still preserve their charming natural scenery and just some of them have developed some infrastructure to receive the little number of vacationers or day-trippers that visit the cays.
The pristine beaches and its splendid natural landscape converted recently the amazing Pearl Cays into the filming stage of the famous Spanish reality show “Supervivientes 2010”. Undeniably travel Nicaragua especially to the tropical Caribbean, the Corn Islands, Bluefields and the Pearl’s Cays is an enriching cultural and exceptionally natural experience.
